The Mad Ones Lab was an artist development program built around the show — a community where performers, music directors, dramaturgs, and theatre-makers studied the score, ran work sessions, and developed digital production techniques together.
The Lab grew out of a simple idea: musicals don’t just exist when productions go up. They exist whenever someone sits at a piano with the score, when a voice teacher hands a student the sheet music for “Run Away With Me,” when a high school director wonders if their cast could pull this show off. The Lab was for those people.
Over the course of its run, the Lab hosted callboard conversations, social media collaborations, work sessions, and showcases — building tools and resources for anyone working with the material.
That work didn’t end with the Lab.
