“If Kerrigan and Lowdermilk aren’t the best young songwriting team in the country, they’re right up there with other candidates – as is implied by the many awards they’ve already gathered.” - David Finkle, Huffington Post

THE MAD ONES

Samantha Brown balances on the edge of her future, car keys in hand. As she sits in the driver's seat, she faces a choice: will she follow in her mother's footsteps, take the dare of her impetuous best friend and chart a new path?

The Mad Ones' story of two girls in a car overcoming their grief has inspired a bestselling cast album, thousands of performance videos, viral fan-art, and over 20 million views.

“Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk are the Rihanna of musical theater. Just as the Barbadian pop goddess releases hit song after hit song [...] which have gained them a rabid online following. Kerrigan and Lowdermilk have connected with the millennial fan base like no other musical theater writers; they’re the official composers of the Internet.” - Curtis Russell

THE LAB

Through a groundbreaking hybrid license, theater companies can create public content to reach new digital audiences, while keeping the full digital production behind a paywall. Additionally, individual artists are encouraged to create digital shorts without needing a license.

The Mad Ones Lab will facilitate discussions with top artists from Broadway, film, television and animation about the process of making digital theatre, and provide participants with access to designers, coders, musicians, production resources, rehearsal / performance tracks and collaborators around the world.

As a female writer (Kait) and a trans + gender nonconforming writer (Brian), we believe in the internet as a way to expand access to theater and elevate new perspectives. We'll both be on hand to approve text and music changes that accommodate your production and performers' needs.
